A Relaxed, Candid Wedding in the Wiltshire Countryside
Featuring llamas or alpacas, I can’t quite tell the difference, a rustic bridge walk, and the kind of love that doesn’t need posing.
Weddings don’t need to be stiff or staged to be beautiful — and this one was a perfect example. From the moment I arrived, it was clear this day was going to be relaxed, personal, and full of quiet connection.
The couple kept things simple, letting the landscape do the talking — rolling countryside, a rustic wooden bridge, and yes… llamas. Because why not?

Why I Took These Shots
Some of my favourite images from this day came from moments they didn’t expect to be photographed.
The Bridge Walk
I had them take a stroll across the bridge just after the ceremony. No posing, no pressure — just the two of them soaking it in. It’s one of my favourite tricks for calming nerves and giving couples space to connect without a crowd. And it always results in natural, intimate images. The way the light fell behind them on the bridge made everything feel cinematic — like a still from a quiet indie film.
The Llamas
These weren’t planned props — they were part of the venue, and they instantly lightened the mood. Including animals like this adds humour and charm to the gallery, but it also helps couples feel more grounded and present. Nothing eases tension like a curious llama photobombing your wedding portraits.
The Candid Moments
Throughout the day, I stayed in the background as much as possible — letting the couple laugh, chat, and sneak away for private moments. The result? A gallery full of unforced, real connection. No awkward hands, no staged smiles. Just them.
💡 How to Feel Confident on Your Wedding Day (Photography Edition)
Feeling awkward in front of the camera is one of the biggest concerns couples have — and honestly, it’s completely normal. But here's the good news: you don’t need to “perform” to get amazing photos.
Here’s what I recommend to my couples:
Don’t worry about where to look. I’ll guide you when needed, but some of the best moments happen when you’re just chatting or walking.
Take time for just the two of you. After the ceremony, I always suggest 10-15 minutes away from the noise. You’ll feel more relaxed and it shows in your photos.
Pick a photographer whose style you trust. When you know someone’s capturing your day naturally, you don’t need to think about the camera at all.
